Ka’u Mountain Pool
A cluster of rare lobelias grow
on the far bank of a crystal clear pool along side an assemblage
of native ferns—hapu'u (Cibotium chamissoi), ama'u (Sadleria
cyatheoides) and uluhe (Dicranopteris linearis). This pristine
mountain pool is a tributary of Hilea Stream in The Nature
Conservancy's Ka'u Preserve on the Island of Hawai’i.
