Ko'olau Hanging Valleys

A beam of sunlight spotlights hanging valleys perched along the top of the
Ko'olau Mountains overlooking Maunawili on O'ahu. These difficult to reach
microhabitats provide sanctuary for native plants such as loulu hiwa, the
native fan palm (Pritchardia martii) which is endemic only to the Ko`olau
Mountains.
