Koa Trees at the foot of Lanihuli
A grove of koa trees (Acacia
koa) thrive at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains
on O’ahu. The slender waterfall hidden in the dark shadow
in the cliff face falls from Lanihuli—the peak above the
Nu’uanu Pali that is mentioned in the mele and hula (song
and dance) of old Hawai’i.
